The recovery housing is defined by ORC as housing for individuals recovering from drug addiction. It provides an alcohol and drug-free environment, peer support, assistance with obtaining drug addiction services and other drug addiction recovery assistance. Research shows that residents of recovery housing have an overall improved quality of life, including decreased substance use, decreased incarceration rates, increased income, increased family and social relationships and improved psychological and emotional well-being.
