Prevention Action Alliance is a statewide nonprofit working to prevent substance misuse and promote mental health wellness. We aim to empower communities by providing all Ohioans with opportunities for prevention education, resources, and advocacy.

Programs provided by Prevention Action Alliance:

  • The Statewide Prevention Coalition Association (SPCA) strengthens Ohio’s prevention coalitions, professionals, and community champions with resources, technical assistance, training, networking opportunities, tool kits, and advocacy support. SPCA also provides foundational resources for all coalitions.
  • The Ohio Coalition Institute (OCI) focuses on education, training, and resources for coalitions at every stage of development. Whether you are building a new coalition or strengthening an established one, the OCI is your go-to for expert guidance, mentoring/ coaching, and support.
  • The G.A.P. (Grief. Advocacy. Prevention.) Network was created to bring information, education, advocacy opportunities, networking, and support to individuals who have lost a loved one to an overdose and to family engagement groups that are working to end addiction to prescription drugs and opiates in Ohio. Not only will the G.A.P Network work with those individuals and families experiencing death due to overdose, but grief and loss due to any mental health circumstance.
  • Know! is an educational program created by Prevention Action Alliance that empowers parents and teachers to promote health and wellness and protect the young people in their lives from unhealthy behaviors, including alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use.
