Since its establishment by the Ohio General Assembly in 1967, the Lorain County Board of Developmental Disabilities (LCBDD) has expanded from servicing children with developmental disabilities in a school. The Board currently serves more than 2,000 Lorain County citizens through Early Intervention, Murray Ridge School, Supported Employment, and Adult Opportunity and Vocational Centers. Murray Ridge also provides residential services, family support services, and Service and Support Administration.
