Hope Meadows Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves the community to provide Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning to children, adolescents, adults, groups and families. Each specialized treatment team is comprised of a Mental Health Specialist, Equine Specialist and the horse(s), creating a safe, healing environment for groups and individuals.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is a unique treatment methodology that provides an experiential means in which the client can identify a range of emotional and behavioral challenges and learn healthy and appropriate skills to address these challenges.

Both during the activity and after, the treatment team can observe and interact with the client in order to identify behavior patterns and process thoughts and emotions.

Horses provide vast opportunities for metaphorical learning, an effective technique when working with groups and individuals. Horses are typically non-judgmental, have no preconceived expectations or motives, and are highly effective at mirroring attitudes and behaviors of the humans with whom they are working.

While working with their treatment team, clients have a unique opportunity to note their thoughts and behavior patterns. These realizations provide an excellent platform for discussion, processing and integration of healthy behavior modification.

Conditions treated include:  Depression & Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, Trauma & PTSD, Addiction and Substance Abuse, Grief/Loss, ADD/ADHD, Family & Parenting Issues.
