Dual Diagnosis
Individual and/or group counseling is available. Licensed and/or credentialed counselors provide assessment and treatment services using evidenced based practice such as the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Approach and the Community Reinforcement Approach. The Motivational Interviewing Approach assists participants in increasing their awareness of the problem and the solution. Participants of Motivational Interviewing reinforces preparation to change, action and maintenance behavioral change. This approach has proven successful in working with a variety of populations who present a range of issues in the clinical arena, in particular substance abuse and addiction. Dr. Robert J. Myers Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) is another foundation for treatment at Hocking Outpatient. ACRA is a research based treatment approach that seeks to address an individuals substance abuse problems by focusing on environmental factors that impact and reinforce substance using behavior. This approach is founded on the cornerstone that environmental factors play a crucial role in addictive behavior and recovery. The use of skills training and positive reinforcers for non-drinking (sober) and non-using (clean) assist the individuals in coping with negative triggers for use, thus guiding them toward success in their sobriety and recovery.
