Individuals are seen during breaks, study halls or other non-core subjects so that the counseling does not distract from their core educational courses. Following initial assessment, counseling and/or other case management services may be provided by trained staff. Case management offers individual and group work provided in the home, school, and community. The individual, counselor, and case manager work together to identify goals to support the individual's emotional growth and development. Our counselors work with the schools' administration to ensure that both educational and emotional needs are being met. Case management is designed to assist individuals with utilizing strengths and resources to acquire skills and services to increase independence and improve behavior and overall academic performance. Individual counseling focuses more directly on symptom management and skill building to improve issues such as attention difficulties, anger and irritability, peer conflict, self-esteem, substance use, depression, anxiety, and overall coping skills.
