Smith Chapel Food and Clothing Mission was started by Danny & Jane Devol in 2001 as a faith-based mission of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church, a small country congregation in Hocking County, Ohio, and evolved into a major supplier of food assistance to residents of the county. SCFCM relies on the support of donors and occasional grants. Contributors have been faithful in giving which has enabled the organization to provide help to those in need in our county. The goal of SCFCM is to be able to purchase groceries so that a box of food can be provided to eligible families once each month on an annual budget of about $110,000, plus operating expenses. On average, about 800 families (2100-2400 individuals) are served each month. November and December typically have the most families requesting assistance. Pantry Hours: 2nd and 3rd Friday from 9am to 12pm.
